How to start a Blog – the comparison between WordPress and Blogger
How to create a blog or better still setting up a blog means choosing the right blogging platform and this will depend on the purpose of what your blog is all about. There are many blogging platforms that are free while other requires monthly payment – premium.
You might not be aware that the free one comes with lots of restrictions, why? Because it’s free. Getting a premium blog gives you the freedom to design and enhance your blog with different plug in as you pleased. The monthly fee that I pay to host gator on a monthly basis to have a premium blog is an investment.
Benefits of Word press
How to start a blog with WordPress you have two choices, there’s wordpress.com and wordpress.org, the first one is free and the second one you will need to get a hosting account to set up a blog. I strongly advise that if you are going to be blogging about business or a career you are better off with wordpress.org on the other hand, if you are going to be blogging about your personal life then wordpress.com is most suitable. The paid blogging platform means you are in control and can do whatever you like, but with the free one there are too many restrictions.
You can install WordPress within 10 to 20 minutes, in fact some will be able to do it in five minutes and you have easy access to videos that shows you step by step how to set it up. You only need to practice the process regularly for you to become an expert.
Benefits of Blogger
How to start a blog with Blogger. Blogger is owned by Google and it is free, but the same principles still apply, there are topics you blog about that could be badly affected by changes in Google’s policy. Topics you’ve blogged about for years could be ruined in one day so be careful. Blogger has some of the features WordPress has; people tend to believe that because blogger is by Google, it will be much easier to rank on the first page.
This is not true because Google is always looking for fresh content, so if your blogger is not constantly updated, Google will not pay you the attention you want. The only thing I will suggest is if you put the same amount of work into WordPress and blogger, Google might index blogger much quicker because it’s owned by them.
Whatever platform you choose about how to start a blog, the main thing will be to follow the principle, one thing that I do is to have blogger pointing to my WordPress because it counts as back link to my WordPress blog and will be quickly indexed by Google.
